CTV’s History & Vision
As you know, this nation was founded on Biblical principles largely by Christian men and women. Those ideals are under attack in our generation and must be promoted and defended in the marketplace of ideas.
CTV exists to work on behalf of Michigan families such as yours to preserve those traditional and conservative values in Michigan. We seek to be a voice for your values by working closely with lawmakers in Lansing through monitoring & advocating on critical legislative issues. We also work to mobilize grassroots networks throughout Michigan to add their voices to the debate through supporting good public policy initiatives.
Our “Pews to the Polls” grassroots network conducts church-based voter registration, voter information and voter mobilization programs to promote increasing turnout in election years. In addition, we conduct Candidate and grassroots training programs, and through our Political Action Committee, we make candidate endorsements and distribute Key Comparison Voter Guides in critical races.
The 2006 Elections - What’s at Stake?
In 2004, we saw a great Presidential election victory and—in Michigan—overwhelming voter support for the Marriage Amendment and a ban on partial birth abortion. However, now is not the time to sit back and do nothing. There is so much on the line for you and your family in the next election!
On November 2, 2006 (just over 400 days from now) Michigan voters will elect a Governor, a Secretary of State, an Attorney General, all 38 Senators, all 110 Representatives, 2 Supreme Court Justices, University Boards, and many local leaders and judges. In addition, we’ll vote for the US Senate seat of Debbie Stabenow and 15 US Representatives.
You should know that the Republican leadership of the Michigan House and Senate has been very friendly and supportive of home schooling over the last decade, but that majority is now being threatened. Some of our best conservative legislators are term limited leaving many open seats. A change in the majority party will likely bring back the old hostility toward educational freedom and home schooling.
Unlimited Potential for Influence
With all of this hanging in the balance, why do so many Christians still refuse to be involved in the process? Regardless of whether we feel “called” into the career of public service, each of us does have a God-ordained responsibility to be “informed and active citizens.” The reason for this article is that we believe there is endless potential in the home school network for greater and greater influence. As we work together, our voices can—and must—be heard!!
Now is the time to begin!

Join our “Pews to the Polls” Grassroots Network.
We’re looking for area leaders, Church Contacts, Voter Registration workers, and volunteers. This is a dynamic way to activate your network for a positive influence. Your whole family can be involved as active citizens. Generally, each home school family represents a different church. So have your family make your church a project to register voters, to keep the congregation informed on key issues their legislators are voting on & remind them to make their vote count on Election Day.
The future hangs in the balance. The choice is up to you, me, our families and communities. Will these seats be filled with individuals who represent traditional and moral principles? The future benefits or consequences of their decisions are in your hands.
Together with you, we are a strong voice for the values we hold dear!
