Giving Tuesday with a MICHN

You are here: Home / General / Giving Tuesday with a MICHN

December 29, 2019 by ktmom

give generously

Since today is Giving Tuesday, won’t you #GiveHomeschoolFreedom by donating to a cause that matters to you? We rarely do a fundraiser at MiCHN, but this year we do have some needs that require special attention. With Facebook and PayPal offering to match donations given today, December 3, we thought this would be a perfect time! https://www.facebook.com/donate/2601605706596916/

Here are some specific needs we’d love to have your support with:

1) We are in the midst of a new legislative session in which many of the newly elected officials are operating from a different worldview than the previous administration. Therefore we anticipate additional funding will be needed to work towards maintaining our homeschool freedoms. We have an increased need for vigilance to keep from having additional regulation and oversight over homeschooling here in Michigan! This will most likely mean more trips to the Capitol and working harder than ever to meet with legislators, build positive relationships, and share the benefits and successes of home education!

2) We are in the beginning stages of a project to write and share the history of the homeschool movement here in Michigan! Producing a high-quality video succinctly communicating the many battles that have been fought over the years to obtain the freedom we currently enjoy, is not an easy nor inexpensive venture!

3) We are deeply involved in planning for #INCH2020, expecting this year’s conference (May 14-16, 2020!) to be one of our best ever– but expenses continue to rise for putting on events of this size, and numerous bills are due by year-end, before registration income really starts to flow in.

Any amount will help and be such an encouragement. Thank you for all you already do to support the mission of MiCHN!

MiCHN has been working to ENCOURAGE, PROTECT, and SERVE the homeschool community in Michigan.
Your financial partnership will help us serve even more families in the year ahead.
